A GIA-certified 1.20 carat natural copper- and manganese-bearing tourmaline, the variety known in the trade as "Paraíba tourmaline," set in a 14K white gold ring with a pear-shaped prong-set center, milgrain-detailed gallery, and diamond-set split-shank tapered shoulders. GIA identifies the stone as a copper- and manganese-bearing tourmaline of Nigerian origin; per GIA, such stones "may be called 'paraíba tourmaline' in the trade," a name originating from the Brazilian locality where the gem was first mined, though today it is sourced from several localities. GIA designates the color as Greenish Blue, the signature glowing blue-to-teal "neon" appearance that makes Paraíba tourmaline one of the most sought-after colored gemstones. The stone is transparent and lively. Please note GIA reports the treatment as Clarity Enhanced. Buyers are encouraged to review all photos carefully before purchasing.
